Not much is new on the Clymer front, so I thought I would just share some random things that have been keeping us busy.
Wendy and I hosted a garage sale last weekend at my parents house. The whole neighborhood participates, so you get a really great turnout. My parents were out of town so we held the fort down. If my sister and I do anything together it usually has a few hiccups. 1st off, when I went to pick up the dog the night before there was a HORRENDOUS smell in the front yard! I called my Mom and asked if she was trying to ward off all of our clientele. Then when we arrived the next morning we discovered a random pair of sleep pants in the front yard with the crotch torn, weird….THEN we discovered that there was a skunk living in the culvert, MYSTERIOUS smell uncovered! Well, we couldn’t do anything about the skunk because we were pretty scared it would spray us. I have to give Wendy credit, she is preggers and I don’t know how she stood it! Every time a customer would get out of there car they would make the most awful face. NICE. About mid day my G-PA came over to check on us. He pointed out that my Dad’s truck had been broken into. So after a call to my Dad we confirmed that his truck had in fact been broken into and someone had stolen his GPS and a little sack of money. So, I had to call the police. Once the police arrived I also informed her of the random pants we found in the yard, her explanation was interesting. She said what probably happened was whoever broke into the car probably got scared and took off and literally ran out of their pants. Wow! After the day was done and all monies were accounted for I made a whopping $35! Seth laughed at me because I was really hoping to make enough to buy a new buffet for our entry – he figured it up and I would have had to sale 3600 shirts at 25 cents a piece to make enough! Dang!
We had a new patio installed last week (pictures coming soon!) and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I don’t know why we did not do this sooner! I am so excited because it has a fire pit! I had this great plan of being able to just burn all of my shred stuff because I really hate shredding (too time consuming!) well, Seth pointed out to me that it was a gas fire pit and you can’t put stuff like that in it. Dang! Reese really enjoyed watching the patio being poured, she just sat at the back window and watched. I also ordered a new light fixture for over our kitchen table, it was supposed to be an oversized lampshade, well when it came in the mail I almost peed in my pants. It is HUGE!!! It is about the size of our kitchen table! It looks ridiculous! I was laughing so hard – and Kristina reminded me of when they ordered a king size padded headboard and when it came in the mail the box was about the size of a phone book. The headboard is inflatable and you just slip a cover over it! Too funny! And actually a really good idea if you have little kids!
Today I had a really bad headache and I was changing Reese’s diaper and I was trying to make her laugh so I put her pants on my head and elastic applied just enough pressure that my head didn’t hurt any more, so I have been wearing her pants on my head for the last 3 hours.
Have a great week!
hahahaha!! I can just see you now with little Reesey pants on your head! I'm sorry I missed the garage sale...And if there's ever a flood guess who's gonna be floating along in style?!?!

We should have thought of those elastic pants when you were in high school. That would have solved a lot of issues (too many meds, missing too much school, really bad hair days, etc.)
ReplyDeleteseriously...you totally had me laughing out loud at this one...from beginning to end!!
ReplyDeleteHYSTERICAL!!
This post had me laughing so hard my husband asked me what I was doing! Especially the part about the head board and Reese's pants on your head!!
ReplyDeleteWe met you and Seth at Paige and Matt's house last July. (We had the little bald baby boy - Trey - who was running around all over the place all night!) Reese is getting big - she is truly a beautiful baby girl.
Thanks for the good laugh! (I hope you don't think I'm a "stalker" - I just love reading good blogs!)
HUH--larious!!! Did you ever think that whoever was breaking into your dad's truck got sprayed by the skunk and he dropped his drawers?!?! Way to go on the 35$....that was a big one :)
